**Maintenance Staff**
At Bayleaf Care's, residential homes for children and young people, it is our honour and privilege to provide nurture and care in a family environment. Each child/young person is treated accordingly in line with the family ethos that encompasses Bayleaf Care.
Currently, we are wanting to recruit two maintenance staff that love to see children and young people thrive in a caring environment. The role of the maintenance staff is crucial as this lends itself to the structural and physical maintenance of the environment surrounding the child/young person. The maintenance staff member will be joining a team of friendly and dedicated professionals who promote a high standard of care to children and young people, with the promotion of the child/young person's dignity and independence.
**Working Hours and Salary**
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time hours (9 am-5 pm): Flexibility when required in emergencies.
- Weekend Availability
- Able to commute/relocate
- £10.50 per hour-£14,40 per hour (£21.840- £30,160 per annum)
**1. **To assist the registered manager by scheduling, managing and fulfilling general maintenance tasks, fire safety checks, health and safety monitoring (e.g. water testing, equipment maintenance schedules) liaising with sub-contractors on site, completion of risk assessments for the home and own activities and record keeping for the home.
**2. **To maintain the home in a good decorative and working order.
**3. **To carry out daily tasks as detailed in the homes maintenance book and as requested by senior staff members at the home.
**4. ** To keep the outside space clean and clear of hazards, ensuring rubbish collection and yard maintenance/cleaning are carried out.
**5. **To work in liaison with the care and house keeping team and assist and assist with any other tasks as required.
**6. **In the event of accidental spillage or contact with cleaning agents refer to COSHH regulations for appropriate action.
**7. **To adopt safe working practice at all times and ensure the safety of yourself, residents, staff members, relatives, subcontractors, and any volunteers in relation to the environment.
**8. **Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to anything you may hear, see or be told concerning the residents, staff relatives and volunteers.
**9. **Cultivate good working relationships and communication with other staff members.
**10. **Ensure personal protective equipment is worn at all times as necessary and update the registered manager of any requirements.

**Qualifications**
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintenance work
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise others effectively
