**Salary**:Up to £58,000 dependent upon skills and experience

Stone Soup Academy is a unique, innovative and exciting mixed 11-18 alternative provision academy, taking referrals from local authorities and schools and meeting the needs of up to 100 young people. We were very proud to be judged as outstanding and we have won many awards for our practice and approach to the quality of education. Including TES Alternative Provision School of the Year and the Optimus wellbeing award which demonstrates our commitment to staff and student’s mental health and wellbeing. **Main purpose of this post**

The core purpose of this role is to engage our young people and to demonstrate professional leadership and management across the academy which will build upon the secure foundations already created. Ensure that we continue to provide an outstanding quality of Education and pastoral care for all our young people, their families and our school community. This role needs to embody and exemplify our vision of Creating Unimagined Futures for all.

**Strategic Development**
- Motivate and empower others to carry the Stone Soup Academy vision of Creating Unimagined Futures.
- Model the values and vision of the academy
- Support the Principal in recruiting students and staff, ensure the statutory requirements, the decisions of the Governing Body and the needs of the students, their parents and the community are met
- Work in harmony with the Governors, local schools, other Academies and other partners as appropriate, both in Nottingham City, Nottingham County and other neighbouring authorities as applicable

**Behaviour and Attitude**
- Work with staff to ensure that we foster a calm and orderly environment in the school and the classroom enabling our young people to learn and make progress.
- Setting clear routines and expectations for the behaviour of pupils across all aspects of school life, not just in the classroom
- Ensuring that there is a strong focus on attendance and punctuality so that disruption to learning is minimised through poor attendance and punctuality
- Developing effective behaviour and attendance policies with clearly defined consequences that are applied consistently and fairly by all staff
- Support all staff to develop young people’s motivation and positive attitudes to learning.
- Fostering a positive and respectful school culture in which staff know and care about pupils
- Support the leadership team ad staff at the academy to create an environment in which pupils feel safe, and in which bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual violence - online or offline - are not accepted and are dealt with quickly, consistently and effectively whenever they occur.
