The Strategic Change Projects directorate is currently taking forward a cross-cutting initiative seeking to set the long-term vision and purpose for Defra group, developing a new operating model and supporting location strategy. We are understanding and responding to the impact of internal and external changes, including leaving the EU and responding to COVID-19, to continue to deliver the outcomes in Defra’s strategic framework. This role can be based at any of the 4 Defra Policy Hubs. We value flexible working, the ability to work at home on an ad hoc basis will be available to be considered.

**Job description**:
By efficiently managing a range of interesting administrative tasks, you will be supporting the creation of a sustainable continuous improvement culture throughout Defra group. You will primarily support the team, facilitating the transfer of knowledge across our communities and networks. You will organise successful events, ensuring our engagement with colleagues is of the highest quality. You will contribute to improving internal processes and standards, ensuring that the team can connect with customers and colleagues effectively and with impact.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Providing support to consultants across an assortment of activities
- Hosting a variety of events, covering housekeeping items and assisting with technical issues
- Undertaking administration activities for the Defra group Change and Improvement Community of Practice, including effective scheduling and promotion of events
- Ensuring training content meets accessibility requirements
- Managing administrative queries
- Managing internal team meetings and events
- Managing and administering team SharePoint sites
- Posting engaging content to various internal communications channels

Analysing basic data, providing commentary that assists the team to optimise its impact.

We are looking for someone who has fantastic people skills and organisational abilities.

Required Experience (please outline in your personal statement how you meet this criteria):

- You must have good IT skills, including the use of PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, Excel, and other platforms.
- You must be an effective and confident communicator, who can interact with a range of audiences, across different grades (e.g. peers, customers, senior leaders).

You need to be able to build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including, managers and staff in and across departments.

You must be self-directed, able to work well alone, and as part of a geographically dispersed team.
