**Job Title**:School Administrator

**Role**:To work as part of the Office Team in the administration of school routines, such as attendance, report and trips as well as general administrative duties of Kings Monkton School and raise standards.

**Focus**: Supporting the work of the Main Office to support Learning and Teaching, Pupil Progress Tracking and Continuing Professional Development

**Line Manager**:Office Lead, Jude Carklin

**Working with**:Principal,Vice Principal, staff, pupils and parents

**Salary: AS4 £10.90 per hour £18,632.11 **(£21,247.14 FTE)

**Contract**: 40 weeks a year plus holidays (5.6 weeks)

**Hours**: Weekdays 37.5 hours a week (Normally 08.00-16.00 with one day a week 09.00-17.00)

**Introduction**

Under the reasonable direction of the Principal, carry out the professional duties of a School Administrator.

Maintain the high standards of support for pupil attendance, attainment and achievement within the school and monitor and support pupil attendance and support progress.

**Job Purpose**:
The School Administrator will work alongside key school staff in managing the school administrative duties and ensuring the effective and efficient use of our SIMS system in the day-to-day management of our school. This includes promoting excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance, the setup, completion, and distribution of reports; as well as supporting returns for Welsh Government and Local Authorities.

- Promote and support high levels of attendance
- To support pupils in achieving their full academic potential
- Promote a positive attendance and punctuality culture
- Form strong relationships with parents/carers

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Management and maintenance of SIMS
- To assist with the smooth-running of the office
- To provide full administrative support to the administration team and teaching staff as required, including attendance.
- To support the management of “front of house” area - greet all visitors and make them feel welcome, cover the switchboard
- To arrange meetings and liaise between staff and parents
- To assist with school performances and special events
- To project a professional image of the school at all times

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manage, maintain and develop the effective use of SIMS across the whole school
- Management of class lists and attendance registers
- To support statutory returns - Welsh Government, Local Authorities, WISC and ISI
- To advise the school on strategies to promote the regular and punctual attendance of all pupils and assist with the implementation of the strategies.
- Meet with school staff, pupils and parents to identify individual problems and possible solutions.
- To establish the reason for nonattendance, make assessments and agree a plan for facilitating a return to school using appropriate strategies within specified timescales.
- To be fully aware of and carry out all work in line with Child Protection Procedures.
- To liaise and work with other members of EWS as well as other professionals in police, Social Services, Housing, Health and any other statutory and voluntary organisations as and when appropriate.
- To manage SIMS, registers and Fire Drill registers.
- To manage and prioritise your own workload in line with other school requirements.
- To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of the statutory framework relating to school attendance, child employment, child protection and special needs in order to be able to offer informed advice to parents, school staff, Academic Board members and others.
- To support Pastoral, Wellbeing, Key Stage staff and senior managers in advising the school on all matters relating to attendance and where necessary take the lead role in developing work processes to improve school attendance.
- To work on initiatives which raise the awareness of school staff, parents and the community on the importance of school attendance.
- Support the administration of trips through the completion and distribution of letters, EV forms, finance and payment receipts.
- Support booking and organisation of buses and transport, whether internal or external.
- Support and develop the safeguarding culture of our school.

- Self-motivating and the ability to identify your own training needs and a willingness to attend relevant training courses or other training.
- Prepared to attend meetings outside of office hours.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people that you are responsible for or come into contact with.
