Manchester, United Kingdom Lorimer Fostering Full time

**About Us**

Lorimer Fostering is a well-established Independent Fostering Agency based in Manchester. We’ve been placing vulnerable children and young people with loving foster families across the North West for 20 years, changing hundreds of lives along the way.

Lorimer continually put the children and young people at the heart of our agency. We work closely with local authorities to provide safe and stable homes for young people to grow up in, helping them realise their potential.

**About the Role**

Lorimer are looking to recruit Fostering Youth Engagement / Support Workers who can work across the North West to help support the young people we have in our care. We require a flexible approach to the hours and days that you may need to work. The role can be part or full time. You are required to have a full driving license and access to a car, as transport to and from activities is a large part of this role.

As a Fostering Youth Engagement / Support Worker, you will work with our children and young people in placement, taking them on activities, encouraging them to gain confidence and improve their self-esteem, thus allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential. As part of this role, you will also be required to produce and maintain accurate recordings of sessions completed.

You will develop an effective working relationship with other professionals involved with the children and young people including contributing to any ongoing assessments relating to their needs. You will also assist the foster carers in developing strategies to manage any challenging behaviours of any children and young people in placement.

**About You**

You will be motivated, flexible and passionate about working with children and young people. You will have effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. You will be committed to your own development by attending training and regular supervision sessions with your Line Manager.

Experience of working with children and young people is desirable.
