Background
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the financial systems team. Our new Unit4 ERP financial system is shared between North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council. This recent implementation gives rise to further developments and improvements in support of the two councils' priorities and values.

The systems team’s main objectives are to maintain an efficiently operating system whilst finding creative and innovative solutions to deliver developments and enhancements.

About the Role
This role will be employed by North Lincolnshire Council but will also provide services to North East Lincolnshire Council as part of a Service Level Agreement. This Practitioner post will work for the Finance Systems Manager and will provide support to the Systems Specialists.

The Systems Practitioner role will be responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the financial systems. This will include responsibilities such as:

- Monitoring and supporting routine interfaces
- Troubleshooting and identifying any issues (workflow, access, etc)
- Maintaining access and authority controls
- Undertaking routine operational tasks and processes
- Supporting the Financial Systems Specialists
- Supporting the software testing schedule

About You

For this role, you will have the following skills or experience:

- Experience of working with finance systems (Unit4 ERP would be advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to understand best practice business processes
- Strong communication skills with staff and stakeholders at all levels
- Effective relationship management skills
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads

The council offers flexible working arrangements, but the role may involve occasional travelling to other council offices.

During the initial period of employment, it will be necessary to have a period working permanently within the Scunthorpe or Brigg offices to allow for knowledge transfer and onboarding to take place. Following this initial phase, agile working arrangements will then apply.
- You will hold English and Maths GCSE A-C or 4+ or working towards
- Have good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good time management
- Commitment to complete an Apprenticeship
- Ability to attend training one day a week at North Lindsey College
