The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist College in Godstone, Surrey. We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.
Set up by musician and songwriter Sir Richard Stilgoe, Orpheus offers learning, supported housing and personal care all on the same site in Godstone, Surrey. We showcase what Orpheus students can offer in the workplace and we challenge the barriers to employment faced by some disabled people.
At Orpheus we seek to build an administration team of highly motivated individuals with outstanding interpersonal, organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills. It is key for each administrator to have a positive outlook, work collaboratively across the teams, and have a proactive approach to planning and prioritising work. Core personal attributes include; personal integrity and trustworthiness, reliability, enthusiasm, flexibility, and empathy. With the ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines we ask that our administrators display excellent written and spoken English with first-class levels of accuracy and attention to detail. We expect our team to have a high standard of IT skills and be highly competent writers of minutes, agendas, papers, reports, spreadsheets, and letters, with the ability to summarise information. Our team has experience of handling sensitive information with respect for confidentiality and data security, and works to an Orpheus wide standardisation of administration.
The **Curriculum and Quality Administrator** is highly organised, computer literate, efficient and motivated. They work closely with the Principal and other college staff, learners, their parents/carers and act as the key point of contact for queries and information related to all parts of the learners study programmes.
The post holder will deliver efficient and responsive administration support that ensures the effective running of day-to-day college activities.
**35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year [9:00am - 5:00pm]**

**Salary: £23,806.60 per annum**

**Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience**:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent including Maths and English
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in an administration role
- Minimum 1 year of working in an education setting
- Experienced user of Office packages, in particular Word, Excel & Outlook
- Experience of taking meeting minutes
- Effective time management & effective utilisation of resources
- Knowledge of GDPR
- Awareness of health and safety good practices
- Highly organised and able to work at pace in a fast changing environment
- Willingness to develop new skills
- Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- An ability to present data and information in a clear, concise, understandable way, as required for a range of audiences, including both internal & external stakeholders
- An ability to multi-task & work under pressure, often to tight deadlines
- Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with young adults with disabilities / learning difficulties
- Drive to achieve results - sets own standards, checks own work and demonstrates a positive approach
- Pro-active approach to problem solving
- Personable with a sense of humour - demonstrating an ability to build relationships and get on well with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work well in a team and willing to share ideas and best practice
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening & weekend events when required (notice will be given)
- To maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times
