**Brief Overview**:
Due to growing volumes a position in the import department has become available at DSV Road Ltd, Purfleet RM19.
The person we are looking for must be self-driven, good attention to details with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high job quality.
The applicant must be organised and punctual, be able to work in a hectic environment and work under pressure whilst keeping a cool head.
We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly skilled team, who possess excellent communication and telephone stills, strong administrative and good customer services skills.
**Main purpose of Job**:
The person will work as a part of the import team and arrange shipments from Belgium and The Netherlands to UK based customers.
You will be dealing with handling bookings from our customers and communicate with colleagues both in the UK and in our partner countries to ensure collections and deliveries are done in accordance with our customers’ requirements.
A part of the role will be contact our customers to book in deliveries after the goods are customs cleared into the UK by our customs department.
Besides this there will be various ad hoc administrative tasks such as POD and query handling and following up on general customer enquiries/questions.
Main tasks:
- Communicate effectively in a professional manner with customers to ensure their requirements are fulfilled in line with their booking instructions.
- Contact delivery UK places to book in deliveries
- Instructing UK Warehouse and Distribution teams to offload trailers and instruct deliveries of cargo using our Transport Management System.
- Liaise with other DSV offices in the UK and abroad, reporting any discrepancies or specific requirements
- Proactively manage and deal with day-to-day queries and issues
- Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. invoicing; filing, queries, claims, POD handling
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal colleagues and external customers, suppliers, and other offices, as required by operational procedures
