Do you have experience of working in health improvement? We currently have a permanent opportunity for Health Improvement Practitioner to join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCU) Public Health Team as part of a partnership project between BCU HMP Berwyn Healthcare Team and HMP Berwyn.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of the prisoners and staff in HMP Berwyn and their families in the community. The role will lead and support the implementation of specific health improvement programmes (i.e. wellbeing, alcohol and substance misuse, healthy diet and lifestyle, and smoking cessation) as detailed within the HMP Berwyn Health and Wellbeing Strategy and action plan.

The position will be based in HMP Berwyn, Wrexham with the expectation that you will occasionally be required to work from BCU premises at Preswylfa, in Mold, Flintshire.

This is a great opportunity to develop and influence the public health agenda and tackle inequalities. The post-holder will be expected to work with a range of partnership organisations both within and external to the prison.
- To be an active member of the HMP Berwyn Public Health team.
- To lead the implementation of specific health improvement programmes to achieve the outcomes promoting healthy lifestyles (i.e. wellbeing, alcohol and substance misuse, healthy diet and lifestyle, and smoking cessation) as detailed within the HMP Berwyn Health and Wellbeing Strategy and action plan.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
