HR Assistant

**Reed Talent Solutions** are currently working with a South Yorkshire based Borough Council to recruit a HR Assistant on an initial four-month contract. The post-holder will provide a variety of advice and support to both internal and externalcustomers on a range of human resources and organisational development matters and provide administrative support to the team. You will have the opportunity to develop, maintain and contribute to policy development and other project work.
**Role Information**
- Location - Barnsley
- Hybrid working available
- Pay Rate - £12.70 per hour
- Contract - 4 months with potential for extension
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with the provision of professional advice and guidance to customers on the interpretation of policies and procedures, terms and conditions and good practice guidance
- Assist with updating existing policies and procedures taking into account legislative requirements, regulations and good practice
- Ensure the timely completion of all documentation/e forms in respect of associated policies and procedures, including liaison with stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assist in the development and presentation of guidance, briefings and training sessions
- Contribute to the development of a customer focused and efficient approach to service delivery
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, providing briefing notes and researching developments and options
- Develop and maintain a variety of data and information using electronic systems including undertaking data analysis and manipulation
- Develop and maintain effective working relations with Trade Unions, stakeholders and customers
- Make the best use of technology available to improve service delivery
- Undertake project work as directed, working on own initiative or part of a wider team
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level as requested by management
**Essential Criteria**
- Relevant experience or working towards a HR qualification
- Excellent admin skills with both Word and Excel competency
