**About the Role**

Sense Scotland Learning Hub is a new post school education based within the Kinning Park area of Glasgow. This specialist cutting edge service within a friendly and supportive environment is aimed at Young People aged 18-21 who have left or are leaving school with Complex Additional Support Needs. The Hub has been developed around the core idea of enabling young people to continue to learn and engage in their learning journey.

Due to this development, we are looking to recruit a part time Curriculum Facilitators (18.5 hours).

As a Curriculum Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in enriching the educational experience of students with diverse special educational and learning needs. Your primary objective will be to empower these students, fostering their independence and active engagement in both the school curriculum and overall school life. In addition to this, you will provide valuable assistance to the Learning Hub staff, ensuring a supportive environment that facilitates optimal learning for all students.

As a Curriculum Facilitator, you will hold the responsibility of designing, delivering, and assessing the learning experiences of young individuals who access the learning hub. You will report to and work with the Curriculum Lead to develop tailored curriculum that aligns with each student's unique set of skills and abilities. Furthermore, you will be entrusted with the task of monitoring and reporting the progress of a designated group of learners, contributing to their ongoing development and achievement.

The Hub is developed around four underpinning principles:

- Provide young adults with the learning needed to allow them to develop as successful individuals
- Support learners to continue with their choice of lifelong learning
- Support the learning of individuals using new and progressive ways of learning
- Building on prior learning and achievements

To be successful in the role of Curriculum Facilitator, you will need:

- To understand how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
- Provide quality experiences for all learners in our care, which are fun, stimulating and creative where they can develop and learn
- To have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour
- You have a great work ethic and can work using your own initiative
- You are enthusiastic about helping people we support achieve their goals in life
- You have excellent communication skills
- A relevant qualification to at least SCQF Level 7 or equivalent
- You are professional and can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner
- Have creative and innovative ideas that overcome barriers to teaching, learning and assessment
- Experience of augmentative communication systems such as VOCAS, symbol systems, signing (Desirable)
- Experience in working in a post school learning environment (Desirable)
