As a Cameras Team Leader, you will lead our team of Camera Supervisors, Senior Operators and Operators, providing managerial and operational supervision of daily operations to meet Customer requirements.

To support the team in meeting the highest standards in the delivery of all operational activities based on the visions and values of Studios, Sky Sports.

This is a key role that will strive to continually improve operational efficiencies, whilst maintaining delivery of an excellent service to our customers.

The Team Leader for Cameras will remain operational across core productions and will be regularly scheduled across the normal shift requirements of the department.

What You'll Do:
Management/Leadership
- Be the primary point of contact for the Camera team, providing clear direction in line with the Values and Visions of Sky Sports.
- Line Management and Performance Management issues for direct reports.
- Establish and maintain crucial methods of communication within your team, and across the wider department of Studios, including the management and chairing of regular team meetings.
- In conjunction with the Senior Manager and other Team Leaders, define and implement training and development requirements.
- Lead an effective Personal Development Plan process for your direct reports, ensuring clear and concise objective setting and that reviews are in accordance with all Sky, Studios and Sky Sports guidelines.
- Play a key role in departmental recruitment and succession planning.
- Drive through initiatives for change in processes and working practices to bring tangible benefits and improvements in the workplace environment.
- Ensure all direct reports follow Sky’s Health & Safety policy manual, and Studios-specific Statement of Arrangements policy in relation to Health & Safety.

Resource & Financial Management
- To have a confirmed understanding of our booking processes and systems.
- Work together with the Bookings team to ensure staff are scheduled efficiently, and support best practice.
- Have a clear understanding of the departmental P&L and to support the Senior Manager in handling budgets, including headcount and equipment spend, on a continuous basis.
- Have an awareness of the Demand plan and ensure our Resources are accurately matched for each Production.

Operational
- Be capable of leading a crew of studio Camera Supervisors, Senior Camera Operators, Camera Operators, and Camera Assistants.
- Understand the operation of all cameras in a variety of configurations under direction on recorded and live programming across all of Sky TV’s Studios, locations and OBs
- Rig and de-rig cameras, carry out routine maintenance and first-line fault-finding as required on all camera and associated equipment.

- Detailed understanding of the craft, theory, and terminology of camera operation in analogue and digital multi-camera studios.
- Practical understanding of all related disciplines in live TV production.
- Consistent track record of operational excellence in live television multi-camera productions of all genres, including studio, location, and OB.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - capable of liaising at all levels.
