The City of Birmingham School is the Pupil Referral Unit for Birmingham and we provide education for pupils who have been, or are at risk of, permanent exclusion, Children in Care and those experiencing emotionally based school refusal.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Careers practitioner to join our school and to play a key part in supporting our secondary aged pupils to fulfil their potential. We seek a proactive professional to lead the development of our Careers provision and to provide careers advice and guidance to students across our five secondary sites. Our Secondary Campuses are located in Quinton, Small Heath, Kings Heath, Balsall Heath and Erdington, with approximately 40 - 100 pupils on each campus.

We have 165 members of staff working with us. These include teachers, support staff, unqualified teachers and admin staff. The size of our setting allows for vibrant CPD programmes and opportunities for career progression. We have an approachable and supportive Leadership Team who encourage staff motivation and promote work life balance.

The post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for the role.
