**Job Description**:
We are looking to recruit a Consultant into the Master Planning & Urban Space team of our Transport Planning Business in either the St Albans (Hertfordshire) or London Aldgate offices.

You will work within a large, collaborative team and support the delivery of strategic transport planning projects across the UK. Your role will be transport planning, focusing on active travel modes, working mostly with public sector clients, and providing technical advice. In this role, you will work closely with our Principal Consultant and Associate Directors within the Master Planning & Urban Space team. You will be expected to guide and assist junior staff in effectively delivering project data. You will need to have the knowledge and demonstrable experience of transport planning skills such as developing transport strategies, including active travel strategies, and ideally with some experience of project management and supervisory skills.

AECOM has a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams, a global reach and diversified market penetration. Our clients include national and local transport authorities, councils, private developers, and international clients. The successful Consultant will join a growing Transport Planning team that is actively involved in the delivery of projects and services to a range of both local and national clients including Transport for London, County councils and London Boroughs, and international developers.

As a Consultant, you will need to provide support to Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant and Associate Directors on technical, managerial and financial matters, and also provide support in mentoring junior staff in terms of enhancing their technical skills and professional development.

You will be expected to help prepare scope and fee estimates for new projects and to ensure projects are delivered to budget and that KPIs are met.

**Qualifications**:

- Good experience in using ArcGIS/ QGIS software
- Good experience in data collection and data analysis
- Strong numerical and analytical skills and excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools
- Previous experience in the delivery of transport strategies that encompass the needs of all relevant transport users
- Familiarity with relevant guidance e.g. Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans guidance
- Relevant BSc/MSc/BEng Civil Engineering or Transport planning degree
- Supervision of workload and support to junior staff
- Client contact and liaison
- Experience in producing reports to a high technical standard
- Passionate about delivering high quality transport planning projects for our clients
- Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of presenting to project teams
- Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner
- Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development
- Takes responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff
