**Salary**: Scale 5, £25,753 - £27,690 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Closing date: Sunday 25th June 2023 at 23.59 hours

**Job Purpose**:
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
1. To effect a range of clerical tasks including copy and audio typing, Letters, Reports, Confidential documents, Spreadsheets and graphics

3. Research and prepare letters for approval and signature by the members of the Chief Officers Group.

4. To use, maintain and update a variety of indices and record keeping systems (NPCC Directory and UK Police Directory).

5. Deal with a range of enquiries internally or from other Forces,, NPCC, staff associations and members of the public/. responding wherever possible on the post holder’s own initiative and only referring complex issues to the Staff Officer.

6. Ensure that all correspondence of a confidential and/or restricted nature is dealt with sensitively and expeditiously.

7. To provide Personal Assistant duties directly to a Chief Officer to cover periods of sickness and annual leave as required

**Essential Qualifications**:
Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes including English and Mathematics) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level. RSA Stage II in typing/word processing OR equivalent.

**Essential Experience**:
Proven secretarial or administrative experience in a responsible position calling for use of complex record keeping systems.
