**Disability Assessor.**

We offer a starting salary of £35,000 (rising to £36,000) with up to an extra £3,600 quality bonus available if you excel in your report writing.

At Capita PIP, we provide unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants/customers of the Government’s disability allowance (Personal Independence Payments).

**Disability assessors **write the reports which help the Department for Communities (DfC) or Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) make important decisions about a person’s health and care. As a paper-based assessor, you won’t meet with claimants/customers face-to-face. Instead, you’ll review all the supporting evidence and gather any extra detail over the phone.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Conducting paper-based assessments to evaluate how a claimant’s/customer’s health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life Reviewing and reporting on an individual’s ability to carry out activities.
- Analysing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence.
- Creating three reports of the evidence gathered for each claimant each day.
- Ensuring enough detail, evidence, and justification are given to support the DfC or DWP in making decisions.
- Developing your clinical knowledge.

**What we’re looking for**:

- One year’s post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic.
- Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or other), without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN.
- Excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise, and dig deeper.
- The ability to work quickly, producing reports in a timely manner and hitting targets.
- Solid experience with using IT and Microsoft Office

**Your working hours**:

- 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week. We’ll consider your work-life balance, as well as the needs of the business, to try and create a working pattern that benefits both of us.
- Working patterns can be between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday, and include an hour for lunch. For example, 8 am - 4:30 pm or 9 am - 5:30 pm.
