Governance Business Partner

UHMBT offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and values-driven Governance Business Partner to join our Team. We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative individual, who must have a flexible and adaptable approach.
To assist/support the Care Groups in the development and monitoring of robust systems for Clinical Governance to improve patient care in line with the Department of Health, National Standards and Local Action frameworks.
To provide visible leadership and Governance advice and guidance for Nursing/Midwifery, Medical, AHP, Health Care Scientists, Pharmacists and support disciplines in monitoring and reporting clinical activities and performance across the Care Groups.
To deputise for the Head of Compliance and Assurance as and when required.
- Oversee and support investigations of highly sensitive/complex matters including root cause analysis and present findings in line with the Incident policy.
- Provide scrutiny and challenge of Root Cause Analysis, ensuring adherence to regulations/policies and guidance in order to promote patient safety.
- To be a point of contact for relatives and staff during investigations processes.
- To advise and support the development, implementation and audit of evidence-based guidelines and NICE Guidance and ensure that all practice is evidence based and that guidelines are robust, accessible and monitored.
- To monitor compliance of the Care Groups procedural documents, ensuring early intervention and escalation.
- Supporting and empowering staff to meet the needs of the local population in line with key Quality Governance objectives outlined in Trust, local and national policy documents.
- To co-ordinate and present reports at the Care Group Governance Group meeting, and other appropriate forums.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
