**About the stores**

Specsavers in Kendal first opened its doors in 1993 so is a well-established business in the community. The store sits in a prominent position in Stricklandgate, a pedestrianised shopping area in central Kendal.

Specsavers in Mint Bridge opened in 2018 and sits in the Mint Bridge Sainsburys just round the corner from Stricklandgate precinct.

Kendal has five test rooms, while Mint Bridge has three. Both stores are fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT and offer enhanced services including pre and post op cataract appointments. 25 dedicated colleagues including 4 optoms and 1 pre reg call these stores home. Both stores have a strong presence in the local community and are Great Place to Work accredited.

**Store Location**

The stores are situated close to each other in Kendal, a large market town on the River Kent, famous for its Kendal Mint Cake. Known as the Southern Gateway to the Lake District, Kendal is surrounded by beautiful countryside, mountains and fells. The market town is a popular base for holidays in the area and boasts a population of around 30,000, with excellent local schools, a low crime rate and an excellent standard of living.

There are excellent transport links with a train station a 10 minute walk from the store and Junction 36 of the M6 is just 6 miles away by car. The store has parking nearby in the town centre.

**Requirements of the role**

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion, and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of these successful stores. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
