The post holder will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks and new installation works as supervised working at properties belonging to or maintained by Princess Alexandra Hospital trust in Harlow.

The post holder will be expected to provide a flexible, high quality responsive and comprehensive maintenance service as part of a multi-disciplinary team engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of equipment across the Trust.

Attend college / study sessions as required

Work with an assessor / mentor to develop a work-based portfolio

Undertake work-based assessments

Develop and expand knowledge and skills as required in line with trust / service / professional development

Participate in Performance Development Appraisal

Have flexible attitude to cross over colleagues

Have ability to work in a structure methodical manner

Be able to adapt to fluctuation in workload

Be hard working, dependable and resourceful

Be enthusiastic and self-motivated

Be flexible to meet the needs of the post

To carry out day to day routine maintenance of electrical services, plant and equipment throughout Trust properties and other organisations as directed.

To meet all apprenticeship requirements and commit to attending college when required.

To carry out planned maintenance work.

To carry out new electrical works as and when required to the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).

Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications as appropriate

To diagnose and repair faults in electrical plant and equipment: - Under supervision year 1: Lighting & lighting circuits

To work from ladders, to erect and work from scaffold (once trained) and safe use of safety harness system.

Complete jobs in a professional manner and be courteous, helpful and understanding to customers, colleagues, patients and visitors.
