As a Key Control Testing Advisor, you will work as part of an independent group wide Key Control Testing (“KCT”) team, who perform point in time samples and tests, to assess that the key controls are working to mitigate the material risks across the Group.

In conducting these sample tests, you will provide the first line of defence in monitoring material risks and their control environment in the following business lines and functions;
- Property
- Motor
- Savings
- Structured and Specialist Solutions (SAS) - inc. Asset Finance, Invoice Finance, Commercial Real Estate and Property Development
- Customer Experience - inc. group Complaints, Financial Assistance, Payments and Financial Crime Operations
- CTIO

**What will your day look like?**

Reporting into the QC Manager, you will be responsible for completing key control testing on a risk based approach and with specialist knowledge of the Key Control Testing Standards and the associated Risk and Control Self-Assessment policy and Standards.
- Acting in accordance with Key Control Testing standards at all times by performing key control testing in line with the defined sampling approach and methodology
- Completion of key control testing activity to the highest quality, thoroughly, accurately and on time
- Ensuring that the key control tests remain relevant for critical control points to provide assurance across the bank risk themes in line with the Risk Control Self-assessment policy and standards.
- Completion of all allocated testing and sampling within the evidence spreadsheet, which provides a clear view on the pass/ fail rationale and any actions or remediation required.
- Engage control owners for failed or for ineffective control action management
- Completing month end results accurately and before month end providing clear commentary on results and rationale where sampling has not been possible to test.
- Providing timely and sufficient feedback to Risk and Control Owners, Compliance, Audit, Senior Leaders on open/ overdue issues, control failures and potential/ actual risks or customer detriment.
- Escalation of significant or repeated key control testing failures to the risk owner, control owner and the Risk and Control Partnering team.

**What do we expect from you?**
- Previous, demonstrable experience in a risk and control testing and quality assurance testing
- Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations in the requisite area (i.e. MCOB, CONC, CCA)
- Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to deal with multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A high level of accuracy and keen attention to detail
- Great enthusiasm for compliance, controls, monitoring, and sampling
- The ability to provide written content which is clear and concise in its messaging
- Strong verbal communication skills which can deliver feedback in a constructive manner
- Ability to challenge the status quo to improve operational efficiency and the customer experience
