**Community Buddies Champion**
Delighted to be supporting a Not-for-profit organisation with their search for a new team member to drive, deliver and manage friendship groups for older people. This role will allow you to see past traditional style groups and open up the opportunity to explore and deliver fun, engaging common interest groups in new and exciting locations. You’ll reach out and engage with community connections, support a team of volunteers. The role will cover 3 hubs across Shipley and Keighley. Own transport is a necessity.

Your central responsibility involves creating opportunities for the well-being of older individuals by pairing them with dedicated volunteer buddies who share common interests. You’ll facilitate the formation of friendships and activity groups based on shared interests, skills, and hobbies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Actively promoting the Buddy Scheme across diverse communities, targeting older individuals, potential volunteer buddies, and external partners.
- Collaborating with various partners to establish inclusive environments for older individuals.
- Managing the Buddy Scheme by pairing individuals based on their needs and goals and empowering them to actively participate in broader activities.
- Initiating and leading the development of friendship groups with peer support or buddy connections.
- Identifying shared connections, interests, and hobbies to facilitate the formation of regular or one-off groups and activities.
- Ensuring that the scheme reaches all demographic groups across diverse areas.
- Overseeing the recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of volunteer buddies and those engaged in peer support.
- Facilitating both one-on-one and group meetings for the buddy team.
- Maintaining detailed records, including data on equality, diversity, and inclusion, for effective reporting and promotion of the scheme and initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards, legal requirements, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding, lone working, health and safety, and GDPR
- Undertaking relevant training, attending team meetings, and fulfilling additional responsibilities as needed to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.
- Assisting with fundraising initiatives and promoting an active interest in the hubs and the broader work and services of the charity.

**Salary**:£12,934.86 (£22,790 FTE)

**Hours**:21 per week over 3 days community based (which includes being part of our community hubs). Some flexibility to perform some work at home)

**Holiday**: 5 weeks and bank holidays pro-rated

Other benefits following probation period.
