Bevan wants to be at the forefront of embedding co-production into Inclusion Health & to have strong people voice across all our service design & delivery. This includes leading on the implementation of our Participation & Engagement Strategy as well as our volunteer programme. We see volunteering & supporting people into occupation & employment as a key service at Bevan to create lasting change & as a means of true co-delivery.The role will lead on the development of Experts by Experience who will advise us on all key deliverables including our business plan, service models & performance.This post will ensure that our experts by experience are well recruited, trained, supported to deliver an excellent service to our customers. The role will develop volunteers who can help us to achieve goals around digital inclusion & social connection
**Main Responsibilities - Participation & Engagement**
Take a lead on the development and implementation of our Participation and Engagement Strategy.
Ensure that Patient/ People Voice is at the core of service design, delivery and decision making
Lead on meaningful participation at all levels of the organisation including governance structures.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to consistently seek and listen to feedback and make changes accordingly
Ensure we are feeding back to patients/ people on changes made because of feedback
Ensure that Bevan is a leader in its field around co-production for inclusion health groups
Identify, support and lead on building a network of Experts by Experience who can act as advisors on service models, developments and general approaches e.g. inclusivity of correspondence, website etc
Enable patients/ people to have greater access by developing and implementing inclusive methods of engagement (including enabling digital access)
Support Quality Improvement Leads on basing changes on patient/ people voice
Support the marketing team in sharing Patient/ People Voice to inform the wider system and society about barriers faced by inclusion health populations
Identify and lead on a accreditation or kitemark evidencing excellence in participation and engagement
Provide the leadership team and board with regular reports on participation and engagement outcomes and feedback
Build an outcomes and impact framework in relation to all aspects of the role
Develop and deliver a training module for colleagues and partner agencies on co-production with inclusion health groups
Help support Experts by Experience to influence the wider system in relation to co-production
Support Experts by Experience to influence research activity across Bevan and beyond
When we refer to volunteers this covers a range of activity across the organisation including our three-tier model to take into account progression for volunteers, advocacy roles and buddying programmes.
Our volunteers come from 3 routes patients (including ex-patients) students (including medical students) and professionals (professionals who offer a specific skill)
**Main Responsibilities - Volunteer Lead**
Lead on the recruitment, training and ongoing support of volunteers across the organisation
Work in collaboration with colleagues and partner agencies to offer placements to support peoples ambitions to contribute to service delivery
Work with the People team to ensure safer recruitment practice is central to the recruitment process
Ensure volunteers can deliver services confidently and in keeping with Bevan policy and practice
Deliver ongoing supervision and support for volunteers commensurate with the level of previous experience and activity being carried out
Provide leadership and board with regular reporting on volunteering
Contribute to development and ongoing monitoring of impact of the service
Contribute to organising annual celebration of volunteering across the organisation
Work with colleagues to identify areas where support is needed and can be addressed through volunteers
Work with colleagues on Quality Improvement projects where volunteers can support
Lead on digital champions role to improve access for our patients/ people
Bevan are a pioneering social enterprise established in 2011 and now widely regarded as being at the forefront of health and wellbeing services for highly vulnerable groups who face social barriers to accessing care. Bevan operate across West and North Yorkshire and our patients include:
- Refugees and Asylum Seekers
- People experiencing homelessness or who are insecurely housed
- Gypsy, Roma and Traveller groups
