**Salary**: Scale 6 £28530 - £30,375 for full time equivalent

There is an opportunity for a Deputy Data Protection Officer to join our Information Management Team. You will support the collaboration between North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

This role will be based in the Compliance Team working within North Yorkshire Police’s Information Management, reporting directly to the Data Protection Officer. Working with key colleagues internally, regionally and nationally, the role will be involved in developing and providing data protection guidance and training as well as conducting research into compliance and data protection practices. The role will undertake risk-based assurance activities to help implement the organisation’s data protection strategy, contributing to maintaining the force’s compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

As a Deputy Data Protection Officer, you will:

- Deliver excellent customer service through offering advice and support to all colleagues
- Focus on raising awareness on Data Protection across the organisation and provide information on legislative responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Data Protection strategy
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current and future national changes to ensure organisational policy reflect these
