**Location**: Headquarters, Northallerton the opportunity for hybrid working for a proportion of the shift.

**Salary**: Scale 3-5 £13,747 - £17,762 per annum working 22 hours per week (£23,121 - £29,874 full time 37 hours per week). This role includes a Career Progression Plan.

**Contract**:Permanent

**Hours**: Two part time positions are available on a job share basis. You will work 22 hours per week Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday. Flexible working will be considered.

- We are looking to appoint two Civil Disclosure Assistant’s to work within the Civil Disclosure Unit (CDU) on a job share basis.

The CDU is part of Evolve Legal Services which provides in-house legal services to both the Chief Constable and the Police & Crime Commissioner and their staff across North Yorkshire, Cleveland, and Durham policing areas.

As Civil Disclosure Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative assistance and undertaking research and routine activities for the disclosure function relating to Data Protection Subject Access (DSAR), Freedom of Information (FOI) and Civil and regulatory disclosure requests.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Maintain a level of expertise in the guidance and procedures required to operate force systems and associated quality control systems, in accordance with relevant legislation, Data Protection and Computer Misuse Acts and national guidance.
- Provide advice to colleagues and members of the public in relation to disclosure procedures.
- Provide administrative assistance and undertake research and routine activities for the disclosure function in relation to DSAR’s.
- Provide administrative assistance with FOI requests and routine research for fulfilment of disclosure requests.
- Ensure appropriate records management including the storage and retention of disclosure information.
- Research, collate and assess information relating to Independent Safeguarding Authority requests in accordance with legislation, policy, and national guidance.
- Research, collate and assess information to provide a disclosure response for the Family Court Advisory and Support Service and other public and private family proceedings.
- Provide advice to colleagues and members of the public in relation to disclosure procedures.

**Requirements**:

- To be successful you will:

- Have or be working towards a recognised Data Protection accreditation or have demonstrable relevant experience.
- Be talented in using various IT systems including Microsoft Office.
- Have excellent communication skill both written and verbal.
- Be able to research, collate and assess information from a range of sources.
- Enjoy working in a team environment.
- Be able to make decisions within specified parameters and act on own initiative.

Previous experience of working within a confidential environment would be desirable alongside knowledge and experience in information disclosure casework.
