**The role**

At Wessex Water, two-thirds of the entire services business relates to wholesale wastewater activities. As the Head of Waste Planning, you will be responsible for creating the five-year plan for wastewater (including sewerage, treatment and bioresources), incorporating performance, cost, risk and asset management expectations.

You will be responsible for developing the asset management framework for the wastewater business, incorporating risk, performance and financial expectations into asset management plans that align with the long-term strategic outcomes.

You will lead a team of seven who are responsible for sewerage, wastewater treatment and bioresources planning.

Other responsibilities will include:

- coordinating the overall status of the internal business plan and amend the plan as appropriate to reflect emergent risks and opportunities
- developing the transition arrangements from one five-year period to the next
- developing requirements coming from and contributing to the sector working group on asset health and operational resilience
- incorporating and developing risk-based and uncertainty management within our forward-looking plans
- creation of internal process documentation to ensure all parties know their role and how asset management and investment plans are developed
- working with leadership teams to determine and embed requirements for investment strategies, including performance, risk and asset health expectations
- working with our in-house delivery departments, including procurement to develop long-term resource and supply chain arrangements to proactively prepare for our future investment plans
- regulatory reporting and representing the business on planning matters.

**What do I need?**

To be successful you will be motivated and ambitious, while also using your own initiative to define and deliver business change within timeframes and budgets. To do this you will have a high level of organisational and influencing skills in dealing with key external and internal stakeholders.

In addition, we are looking for:

- degree qualified in a technical discipline
- five years’ experience in operations, engineering or asset planning roles
- good IT skills
- previous management experience would be desirable.
