We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Head of PR & Communications to join Avery Healthcare’s Marketing team, working within the senior Avery team to define, develop and implement an innovative and compelling PR and Communication plan aligned to the company’s strategic plan, promoting the work of Avery and its brand and reputation. To be both a strategist and hands-on with team objectives to ensure the effective delivery of communications.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Create internal and external communication opportunities and identify and anticipate risks and threats
- Develop appropriate crisis management or positive PR plans to manage them
- Work closely with Directors, Senior Leadership Team and the wider Marketing Department to advise on how to amplify our message, ensuring a clear and co-ordinated approach aligned with the company strategy
- Cultivate and manage the company’s media image by establishing and leveraging relationships with relevant stakeholders to effectively position us in a wide range of local and national media as part of the integrated approach to PR, communications and events
- Manage the press office and engagement with all stakeholders
- Effectively promote Avery’s strategy vision with all stakeholders, building a robust and distinctive identity and sense of community
- Manage the organisation's media profile by maintaining up-to-date insight into local, national, and international media interest
- Cultivate relevant media contacts and identify and secure opportunities for proactive and reactive media coverage, maximising positive coverage designed to maintain and enhance Avery’s reputation and to increase the impact of our brand
- Develop and utilise relations with media and external stakeholders to strengthen and protect Avery’s reputation
- Build and uphold solid and lasting relationships with targeted external audiences through communications and engagement activities, including national media
- Ensure that PR and communications activity is agile and responsive, ensuring delivery in a timely and accurate manner and excellent ongoing monitoring and reaction to PR and communication issues
- Co-ordinate development of press releases, press kits and training for care homes to showcase Avery’s work
- Monitor the results of public/media relations and internal and external communications, measuring their impact and effectiveness and preparing media activity and insight reports
- Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all PR and communications materials in line with the Avery brand and marketing plan
- Copywriting for advertorials, blogs, brochures, PR, Avery Life magazine and internal (Avery In the Know) and external (Avery Talk) newsletter articles to ensure engaging content and communications
- Manage the publication of such articles externally on the company website and social media channels
- Manage publisher relationship for Avery Life magazine
- Co-ordinate and manage resident, relative and staff surveys, analysing results and reporting to the Exec team
- Copywriting and management of award submissions
- Create and manage the company’s internal and external communications calendar
- Play a key role in organising and executing conferences, events and exhibitions
- Support with the launch of a new intranet
- Support all Directors
