An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Transport Planner to join our dynamic team based in Normanton, West Yorkshire. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong background in transport planning, particularly with experience in coordinating HGV Class 1, 2, and 7.5t vehicles.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Efficiently plan and coordinate transportation routes for HGV Class 1, 2, and 7.5t vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with regulations.
Utilize your expertise in Working Time Directive (WTD) and Tachograph laws to ensure all planning activities adhere to legal requirements.
Collaborate closely with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to optimise delivery schedules and resolve any operational issues that may arise.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and delivery manifests.
Continuously monitor and evaluate transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
**Requirements**:
Previous experience in a transport planning role, with a strong understanding of HGV Class 1, 2, and 7.5t vehicles.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and optimizing transportation operations.
Proficiency in using transport management software and other relevant technology tools.
Flexibility to work Monday to Friday shifts from 11:00 to 20:00, with the understanding that start and finish times may fluctuate to meet the business needs.
