**Job Description -** Quality Controller

**Area -** Operations

**Reporting to -** Stock Manager

**Hours **- 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday

**Main Responsibilities -**

Quality Control incoming deliveries (plants and gardening sundries) for quantity and quality and exchange consumables.

Release acceptable goods to the packing team, quarantine plants that require growing-on and reject poor quality goods (photograph and immediately communicate to Stock Manager).

Maintain a file of plants growing on, monitor and communicate to Stock Manager/Stock Managers team.

Walking Hollyoak Nursery greenhouses daily reporting/solving issues (watering, nutrition, insects, diseases) to the Operations Director / Stock Manager.

Spot watering/spray plants identified as in need of water/treatment following the daily stock walk.

Pruning/weeding plants as required working with the packing teams.

Complete Dead Stock reports and report back daily to the internal operations team.

Stock counting as required by Stock Controller.

Production of a Quality Control file to set expectations/standards for new packing employees.

Produce growing plan for potted plants and physical potting from time to time.

Occasional external visits to UK and European propagators.

Implementation of stock system in agreement with Stock Controller and Operations Director. Update stock position record - irrigation lines 1 to 48, left to right.

Create a watering/spray plan / watering program allowing for weekend cover.

Create, maintain, and develop a plant trials area to produce grown on for photos and imagery, checking true to type on new items and monitoring plant performance.

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour
