The Clinical Studies Officer (CSO) is a key member of the Trusts Research and Innovation. The principal purpose of the role is to work with clinical teams to assist in identifying and recruiting participants in research studies, including service users, carers and staff. The CSO also provides assistance with obtaining NHS Trust R&I approval, as well as other delegated tasks relating to research governance.
- To assist clinical teams and NHS services in identifying potential participants eligible to take part in research projects and to provide information and support for patients, carers and staff involved in research projects
- To provide research teams with assistance in obtaining NHS Trust R&I approval and other governance requirements such as Honorary

Contracts/Letters of Access
- To maintain close links with clinical services and departments across the Hub, as well as with Research & Innovation Departments and research teams, working in partnership to set-up, plan and deliver on studies and maximise recruitment to-target and to-time
- To lead on planning recruitment strategies for research studies, monitoring delivery, maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders, and working as a team to identify problems early on and problem solve.
- To actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.
