We are looking for a new Placements Officer to join our growing service here at Five Rivers Child Care. We are a Social Enterprise with the goal of “Turning children’s lives around”.

This role will base you out of either of our South Fostering Offices such as Bristol, Salisbury, Truro and Exeter. This will be agreed upon during the recruitment process. All of our fostering services are rated Good with Outstanding features with Ofsted.

Five Rivers Fostering Services has grown a significant amount which has led to natural growth within the organisation. We have had a significant increase in the amount of national referrals. We are committed to ensuring that our Placement Service has the structure to ensure we enhance opportunities to increased numbers of placements and build on our quality relationships with local authorities.

As the Placement Officer, you will work in a professional manner between Five Rivers Fostering and Local Authority commissioners responsible for procuring fostering placements building a positive relationship. You will able to assist your colleagues in the service to help manage the referral process ensuring in high-quality responses. An exciting part of the role is contacting our carers who have been put forward as a potential match while maintaining contact and building further relationships with them.

Five Rivers works from a Trauma informed (ATIC) model with integration across our fostering, residential, clinical and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- To forward referrals to staff and carers within the Fostering offices to allow matching to take place with timescales for a response and any additional information
- Respond to the Local Authority with the carers profile and a price for the placement, or a response letting them know we cannot offer and the reason why.
- To be the point of contact for local authorities when they want to follow up on an offer of a placement, communicating to the appropriate social work staff.
- To work closely with duty system and local managers
- To meet with Foster carers within their induction and any carers with vacancies
- To ensure relevant information is shared

**You will receive**:

- Formal induction and training in our paperless electronic recording and management system (CHARMs)
- Professional supervision provided by a Senior Placements Officer/Service Manager
- Support from other Placement Officers across the fostering service.

**You will have**:

- The desire to be a team player who wants to achieve best possible outcomes for all our children and foster carers
- Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people in social care
- The right to work in the UK
- The ability to present material professionally, both written and orally, inside and outside the service
- (Desirable) experience in working in social care or commissioning
