Our client school in Barnet is looking for a **Behaviour Support Assistant** to support with emotion regulation and challenging behavioural needs. This is an inclusive and diverse primary school located in Whetstone, Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience as a behaviour mentor, sport coach, youth worker, special educational needs assistant and/or learning support assistant.
As a **Behaviour Support Assistant**, you will provide support and guidance to a boy in Year 5 who is working at a Year 1 level. You will work to identify and address the underlying causes of their behaviour which stems from anxiety, and aid him in developing positive coping strategies. You will need to establish boundaries and have a firm but fair approach. It is important to note he can be aggressive when he gets angry, therefore this role requires someone with adept behaviour management experience.
