**Job summary**:
Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt the organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for their personal gain.

**Job description**:
Interventions, Sanctions and Compliance (ISC) is part of Immigration Enforcement and is responsible for encouraging compliance within the immigration rules as part of the overall enforcement effort to tackle illegal migration and those who help to facilitate it.

Based in The Soapworks near Salford Quays, the Civil Penalty Compliance Team (CPCT) forms part of the ISC.

CPCT issues civil penalties to employers found to be employing people individuals without permission to work or landlords renting accommodation to individuals without the right to rent in the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile team who act against rogue employers and landlords and has links to wider action aimed at restricting access to benefits and services to those are not entitled.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and embed a wide range of skills, in a job where you can make a real difference. We will give you full and comprehensive training which will enable you to carry out this worthwhile and varied role.

You will work as part of a team, undertaking a range of interesting and varied activities linked to our aim of tackling illegal migration and reducing harm. Your day-to-day work is likely to include (but is not limited to) the following areas of the department:
The debt recovery team, where you will be responsible for processing and tackling outstanding penalty debt. Your excellent stakeholder engagement and accurate record keeping will see you liaising with key contacts such as specialist debt recovery agencies.

You may have line management responsibility, where you will undertake the full range of HR responsibilities, accurately reviewing output and productivity against key performance indicators, and providing fair and balanced feedback. You will use your strong coaching skills to develop your staff, providing sound technical advice and support through welfare check-ins.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Analytical and decision making responsibilities
- Producing high quality outcomes, explaining why decisions have been made
- Processing and tackling outstanding Civil Penalty debt
- Robustly defending Civil Penalty processes at court hearings
- Potential of line management, where you will have HR responsibility including managing performance and productivity
