Do you have good communication skills with adults and young people? Do you want to support families to prevent a child coming into care? Do you want to learn more about therapeutic approaches? Then come and join our therapeutic services and help make a difference.
We support young people who have experienced childhood trauma, and we work with them and their families to help stop young people entering the care system.
This role requires you to:
- Undertake direct work with children and families with the most complex needs, using a range of interventions, organised through the ARC framework in collaboration with senior colleagues.
- Undertake assessments to help inform therapeutic interventions for families
You will provide intensive care packages to help young people who have complicated needs, helping them to build secure attachments and become self-reliant, working with them at home, at school and in the community.
You will need to be a driver with use of a vehicle for work and be able to work some evenings and weekends (min 10%) with the families you support and within ARC services Families Together and Short Breaks service.
In return you will be supported to develop your professional knowledge and skills through supervision, training and other development opportunities in areas relevant to the work of the ARC, specifically in working with complex trauma
Experience of working with young people is preferred but not essential
Having great people skills to communicate with young people and adults and a passion to make a difference is required.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a diverse team who have a huge range of experience and specialism to help support families and prevent placement breakdown.
