We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as a National Housing Officer to ensure all New Start properties are kept to the standard required in supported living and are fully compliant with prevailing legislation. Make systematic and regular property visits to enable this and deal with any other tenant issues. Work with Registered Providers as required to onboard or exit tenants as required.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide comprehensive administrative support to New Start Supported Housing Management Team
- Carry out property searches to identify appropriate properties for vulnerable adults.
- Make regular visits to new and existing properties to ensure they are fit for purpose
- Support New Start in delivering services, which are accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of the users of our services
- Work closely with the New Start team in maximising all housing benefits entitlement being claimed by service users/tenants within supported accommodation
- Develop an effective and professional working relationship both internally and externally promoting a positive image of the service and of New Start Supported Housing.
- In liaison with appropriate Registered Provider Health & Safety teams develop an effective property maintenance work schedule to manage the general upkeep and best appearance of all leased properties in accordance with New Start maintenance procedure
- Be able to deal effectively with issues raised by tenants or landlords regarding issues in relation to the property. Record and report complaints within 24 hours of receiving it to Managing Director and where instructed resolve complaint.
- Identify and provide appropriate accommodations for vulnerable adults.
- Ensure properties are decorated and maintained to high standard for service users move into by developing a “Stock Condition” property survey.
- Ensure that all property leases, insurance, gas safe, electric and fire safety certificates are current and that there is a notification system in place.
- Liaise with Landlords regarding any queries of lease and renewals
- Respond sensitively and appropriately to telephone enquiries and pass on messages to the appropriate person where necessary.
- Participate in team meetings, new initiatives and future changes to improve service delivery.
- Ensure that New Start policies & procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure work practices meet Health & Safety requirements and adhere to the Association’s Equality and Diversity policy.
- Other tasks that may be requested from time to time by the Managing Director which are not in the Job Description, but which reflect the general nature and level of the job.
