Would you like to join a born and breed success story in Scotland as the Head of Data Centre Operations?

With a HQ in Glasgow the organisation work in a hybrid model with the expectation of two or three office days per week.

As the Head of Data Centre Operations, you'll be responsible for managing a team of skilled platform and network engineers, ensuring utmost security, availability, and reliability of the company's data centres.

Furthermore, a strong grasp of hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premise infrastructure with public cloud, is vital.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and guide data centre teams, providing mentorship and support for safe and efficient operations.
- Safeguard the security, availability, and performance of data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Implement and uphold best practices for data centre operations, including monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge solutions.
- Recommend and implement improvements to optimize the efficiency, security, reliability, and scalability of the company's data centre infrastructure.
- Manage seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and public cloud providers for efficient hybrid operations.
- Champion the use of Infrastructure as Code to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Cultivate strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to procure and maintain equipment and services.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the company's infrastructure remains at the forefront.

Essential Skills:

- Academic or vocational qualifications in computing or engineering.
- Extensive experience in managing data centres, preferably in a leadership capacity.
- Proficient with ITIL framework.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, hyper-converged infrastructure, Windows, and Active Directory.
- Proficiency in hybrid cloud environments, ideally in Azure.
- Strong project management skills to lead short, medium, and long-term initiatives and achieve outstanding results.
- Ability to work with third party vendors and a variety of stakeholders across the business bot tech and non-technical.
