The retail department is seeking a talented, pro-active and enthusiastic Merchandiser Administrative Assistant in St James Palace to support the ongoing development of the operations.

Managing nine permanent outlets across three sites, plus temporary shops and guidebook points opened during the busy summer season, the retail team sell a wide range of giftware from limited edition porcelain and jewellery to postcards and key rings and have a strong emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction.

Joining our diverse and highly professional team, you'll be helping guarantee all our shops have the stock required to meet not only our visitor's needs but also our budgets.

You'll be assisting our Merchandiser in making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time. You'll ensure that customers see a range of products as extraordinary as the surroundings in which they are sold.

Liaising with suppliers and other departments, you’ll check product orders, process invoices and handle varied queries, all to which will help us keep to our tight deadlines.

You’ll gain a breadth of experience providing wider support to the Retail Department, assisting with a variety of activities. In all you do, you’ll be helping ensure we deliver customers a service they won’t forget.

The post-holder is principally based at St James’s Palace, however, on occasion they may be asked to work at other locations. Hybrid working is supported, typically 3 days in the office 2 days at home.

- About you- Well organised with previous administrative experience, preferably within a fast paced retail environment.
- Excellent numeracy and administration skills, with attention to detail, delivering a high standard of work with accuracy.
- A willingness to undertake duties outside of core job role in order to support colleagues.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a confident and friendly manner over the telephone.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good internal and external relationships
- Possess good IT skills, including Excel & MS Word.
