The role

As a speech and language support assistant you will be required to support the needs of pupils who have speech and/ or language barriers. You will need to deliver high quality intervention sessions to further promote their speech and language development,focusing on concrete, pictorial, and abstract learning methods to suit each pupils’ individual needs.

You will need to be able to provide proof of qualifications GCSE - A-Level or equivalent but they do not need to be specific to the role, but it is desirable to have relevant qualifications.

- Speech and language experience desirable
- No specific qualifications needed
- Start date April 2023
- With a view to move onto a permanent school contract
- Competitive hourly rate of pay £10.77 p/h

The school

This school is a specialist provision in the Preston area. It caters for pupils aged between 4-11 years who are currently working below their average age level and require additional support for their learning and development. Many of the pupils displaychallenging behaviour, and will need additional support for their social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school provides a fantastic range of intervention sessions all aimed to further support the development of their pupils, one of these interventionsis a speech and language intervention, this is when you will be required to produce high quality sessions to support your pupils for their development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
