Reporting to the Orchestra Manager, the Stage and Transport Co-ordinator is a member of the orchestral management team and part of the wider Classical Team at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.

You will be responsible for the advance planning and on-the-day management of the stage requirements for all Royal Northern Sinfonia (RNS) activity both at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music and at external venues and for the transportation of all instruments and equipment.

The post is based at The Glasshouse ICM but you will be required to work at external venues both within the UK and abroad.

- Ensure availability and setting of all necessary equipment and instruments including instrument hire if required and to liaise with the percussion section to ascertain which specific instruments are needed and the lay-out required.
- Maintain excellent relationships with the musicians and work proactively to respond to any requests or issues.
- In conjunction with the Orchestra Manager, to contribute to the stage management of all RNS activity, making sure all stage moves during performances are professional and efficient.
- Work with venue staff at The Glasshouse ICM and external venues to ensure that excellent conditions are provided for the orchestra, including appropriate staging, seating, lighting and heating (and hire of these if necessary).
- Organise the transportation of instruments and equipment for all RNS activity including rehearsals, concerts, and tours regionally, nationally and abroad.
