**Research Associate**
- The post holder will be responsible for supervising and undertaking (1) the optimisation of head-mounted cameras for home environments; (2) the design, recruitment and conduct of a head-mounted cameras study with children with and without Down syndrome in the first five years of life; (3) data curation, sharing, and analysis; and (4) dissemination of results (including manuscript preparation and conference presentations). Training and support will be provided as required.
- Applicants must have excellent organisational, communication, and research skills and an ability to successfully work as part of a team. This post is especially suitable for those with a PhD in Psychology and who are pursuing a research career in developmental science.
- This position is full-time (with a possibility to job share) and fixed-term for 20 months.

**Main function**

To investigate the everyday visual experiences of young children with and without Down syndrome using head-mounted cameras and contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University, carrying out research leading to high-quality outputs. To pursue excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.**Main duties and Responsibilities**:
**Research**
- To take a leading role (supported and trained by the Principal Investigator) in design, setup, and delivery of a research project on the everyday visual experiences of young children with and without Down syndrome using head-mounted cameras.
- To optimise head-mounted cameras for home environments.
- To supervise/undertake participant recruitment.
- To supervise/undertake data collection, coding, curation, sharing, and analysis.
- To disseminate results (including manuscript preparation and conference presentations).
- To undertake administrative tasks associated with the research project, including the planning and organisation of the project and the implementation of procedures required to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- To review and synthesise existing research literature within the field.
- To participate in School research activities.
- To work with other members of the team to build networks both internally and externally to the university, to influence decisions, explore future research requirements, and share research ideas for the benefit of research projects.

- To engage effectively with industrial, commercial and public sector organisations, professional institutions, other academic institutions etc., regionally and nationally to raise awareness of the School’s profile, to cultivate strategically valuable alliances, and to pursue opportunities for collaboration across a range of activities. These activities are expected to contribute to the School and the enhancement of its regional and national profile.

2. An established expertise and proven portfolio of research and/or relevant experience within either:
- i. developmental psychology/science
- ii. cognitive psychology/science
- 3. Proven ability to manage and analyse complex empirical information.
- 4. Proven ability to publish in international journals and/or present at national/international conferences and/or other research outputs.-
