Associate Underwriter

Risk Services, Cardiff

18 month fixed term position

(Full training provided. Previous experience not required)

Working hours: 36 hours a week (we are willing to consider this role on a flexible/part time basis)

**Unit description**

Our Risk Services department is responsible for reviewing requests for trade credit insurance cover. From our UK headquarters in Cardiff Bay, we underwrite over €40bn of credit on UK businesses, from SME’s to Multinational organisations. We pride ourselves on our expertise and our inclusive and supportive culture.

**The role**

**What you will learn**:

- How credit Insurance works to support businesses
- How to assess basic financial accounts
- How your role fits into the wider business and what opportunities you can pursue in the company
- Full training in financial analysis
- Full training in information sources
- Hands on experience of risk management including opportunity to visit UK companies

- Good numerical skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to use the internet and other sources of information as research tools
- A logical approach to assessing information
- Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail

- An interest in Financial Services
