An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and fast paced Ophthalmology outpatient department.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support and provide a high standard care to our patients in various sub
- specialities within Ophthalmology including Macular theatres.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Healthcare Assistant and will welcome any forward thinking, caring individual who is committed to providing a high standard of patient care to our patients.
You must display excellent communication skills and be confident to deal with patients, families, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
You will be given the appropriate training to undertake specific Ophthalmic investigations under the instruction and supervision of clinicians and nurse in charge.
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS - yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members - patients, staff and the local community.
Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
To support patient on their journey through Ophthalmology outpatients.
At all times treat patients, carers and colleagues with dignity and respect, exercising discretion and behaving in a manner consistent with the CHFT standards of behaviour.
To be able to work independently and part of a team under the supervision of a qualified member of the team.
To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work
Work in a collaborative and co-operative manner with other members of the Ophthalmology team.
To undertake training including essential safety training and adhere to principals taught.
Undertake duties that you have received appropriate training for and have been deemed competent.
To adhere to Trust policies and procedures
To establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with multi-disciplinary team.
