**Job purpose**
This role will provide a broad and flexible medical administration service to meet the contractual requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy). Employed as an Administrator, you will be required to provide medical administration in the Medical Centres at HMS Sultan, HMS Collingwood and HMS Excellent, with the need to travel to these establishments often at short notice to meet the needs of the business.
**Responsibilities**
With requisite training, provide an administrative service to the Establishment Medical Centres, developing a good working knowledge of the administrative duties in any of the following roles:
- Reception
- Medical Records/Medical History
- Joint Medical Employment Standards (Medical Downgrades)
- Naval Service Medical Board of Survey (NSMBOS)
- Hospital Appointments
Specifically, there is a requirement to:
- Operate the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) (training given).
- Create and amend medical documentation, including typing letters, reports and memoranda.
- Maintain medical confidentiality always complying with Caldicott principles and the General Data Protection Regulations.
- Process and maintain statistical data lists when required.
- Maintain desk instructions within area of employment.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks determined by the Mitie Line Manager chain.
***Knowledge skills & experience**
***Administration experience with strong organisational skills, with a high degree of integrity and the ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to develop close working relationships.
- Previous administrative experience within a Medical environment (desirable).
- Knowledge/understanding of MOD administration and processes (desirable).
- Ability to adapt to change and undertake additional training when required.
- Full driving licence required.
**Additional Information**
- Enhanced DBS & security clearance will be required (Right to work in the UK).
- The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only. There is currently a local agreement to finish early on Fridays.
