An exciting opportunity has arisen at RL Commercial. Rugby League Commercial manages all commercial aspects of UK Rugby League, including the Betfred Men’s and Women’s Super League, the Challenge Cup and the England national teams (men, women and wheelchair). We are seeking to appoint an Events Executive to take ownership of key Rugby League properties to help us reach our commercial targets in 2023 and beyond. This is an exciting time to join Rugby League Commercial, following a highly successful Rugby League World Cup in England in 2022 and the sport recently announcing a 12-year strategic partnership with global management company IMG.

RL Commercial are currently recruiting for an Events Executive

Key responsibilitiesMaintaining and updating the Events databaseUpdating and managing the Events CalendarSupporting with the creation, updating and distribution of Event documentation and project plansOverall responsibility for the co-ordination of accreditation. This includes working with the Marketing Department for design, ordering stock through to collecting information required for the issue of accreditation from contractors, teams, broadcast partners etc. and the producing and distributing using the relevant system.Preparing and collating briefing packs for competing teams and match day staff.Identifying, planning and managing staff accommodation requirements, including on-going management of the reservation where relevant.Maintaining a diary for each of the RFL’s trophies in current circulation, detailing when trophies are booked out for appearances.Liaise with clubs and previous winners to ensure trophies are returned within an agreed timeline.

Key skillsMust have worked to tight deadlines and under pressure.Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.Ideally have worked in the sports or entertainment industry previously.Have previous event management experience.

Remuneration: £21,500-£24,000 plus company benefits. This role is full time and based in Manchester, however due to the nature of the role, travel and flexibility with hours may be required. RL Commercial encourages a flexible and hybrid working environment.
