The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is in the fortunate position of having secured additional funding to expand and implement our highly effective Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) program.

To meet our expanding and developing AVP requirements we are now able to offer a vacancy opportunity to join our existing dedicated AVP Supervisor Team within Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

**Duties to include**:
The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of first level line manager duties associated to the provision of AVP Operations.

Post holders will ensure a high standard of AVP service delivery is maintained in relation to the AVP provision at any given centre.

Primary duties will include the day-to-day site supervisory duties, and this includes the supervision of AVP operational staff, the monitoring/auditing of all AVP activities including equipment checking/testing, re-stocking, effective Infection Prevention and Control and acceptable levels of cleanliness to meet the current Trust standards.

To build and develop strong working relationships with all users of the Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Services.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.

This post is an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on night shifts only including Bank Holidays. The role is to Line manage/supervise the AVP provision, the AVP Operative staff and the activities of preparing our front-line operational vehicles. The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand.

Post holders will develop a one team environment, nurturing, supporting, and empowering our staff to achieve the required skills to meet service needs and encourage staff to engage in personal development.

Post holders will ensure all practices and procedures are maintained to Trust standards.

Post holders will be required to work with minimum supervision, flexibly and use their initiative in decision making.

You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.

Competency to use IT equipment including computer systems, tablets, barcode readers and associated software packages is essential in this role.

Previous supervisory is essential within an Ancillary/Cleaning/AVP although training will be provided in regard to specific AVP activities.

Our training package includes NVQ, CMI and NCFE Learning and Development in Leadership and Infection Prevention and Control.

Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays.
