**6 month fixed term contract - opportunity for permanent position on successful completion**

**Must have full UK driving license & own vehicle as travel to sites in and around Rochdale will be required.**

We are pleased to be supporting our client, a successful social housing association with over 12,000 homes and 550 staff members, in their search for a Building Safety, Quality, and Compliance Lead to join their Building Safety team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, this role will ensure that all statutory compliance and building and home safety obligations and requirements for all areas of the homes property portfolio are met and consistent with up-to-date legislationwhich includes overseeing the implementation of the Building Safety Act requirements, embedding the principles of the Building a Safer Future charter, and also any best practice recommendations from the Grenfell enquiry, and all associated legislation anddocumentation.
- Experience in working at a senior management level within a Compliance or Building Safety environment.
- Resourcefulness, confidence, and ability to assess situations and make appropriate decisions.
- Effective Interpersonal skills - confidence in networking, building, and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Awareness and empathy of the social issues that might impact upon colleagues and customers.

**Technical competencies**:

- In-depth knowledge of Building Safety and Health and Safety legislation and accreditations.
- Ability to lead and support on budget management and financial planning.
- Ability to develop, establish, maintain, and explain extensive processes and procedures related to Health and Building Safety legislations, regulations, and accreditations.
- Excellent verbal communication with the ability to handle difficult situations and negotiate.
- Excellent written skills - ability create and deliver reports at board level.
- Stakeholder management - ability to develop, establish, maintain, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and teams.
- Able to plan, prioritise, work to, and set targets to meet time sensitive deadlines.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant experience.
- Degree level (or equivalent) in a Housing or Construction related qualification.
- Desirable - Professional qualification in strategic management such as ILM.
- Possession of or working towards a Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General and NEBOSH Construction.
- Possession of or working towards a Building Safety qualification i.e., CIOB L6 in Building Safety Management.
- Possession of or working towards Chartered membership status.
