**Salary Range**:NJC Grade SO2 - PO. Scale Point Range Points 26 - 30 £32,909 - £36,298 (Full time salary)

£28,478 - £31,411 (Actual salary for a working pattern of term time only, plus one week)

Starting scale point is dependent on experience

**Other**:3 months’ notice period

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

The postholder will lead, manage, monitor and report on whole-school attendance data, analysing data to identify key areas of concern. They will work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to reduce levels of absence. They will ensure effective collaboration with the school’s pastoral team regarding attendance to ensure positive aspirational outcomes for all pupils.

To work effectively with children, staff and parents and liaise with external agencies, as and when required.

**Health & Safety**:
The postholder is responsible for their own health, safety, and welfare and that of others within their care, in accordance with the school’s policy and the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974.

**Training and Development**:
The postholder will be responsible for assisting in the identification of and undertaking their own training and development requirements, in accordance with the performance management framework.

**Equipment/Materials**:
Ø To be responsible for the safe use and maintenance of equipment/materials used by the postholder.

Ø The operation of general office equipment, ICT systems and the orderly storage of stationery and office supplies.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Attendance in School**
- Be the main contact for any attendance issues in school.
- Take the operational lead on improving school attendance.
- Manage, lead, and advise the school on attendance strategies and initiatives, promoting a culture of high attendance and punctuality in all pupils.
- Raise the awareness of the importance of school attendance for all stakeholders.
- Provide a specialist service to assist the school in meeting their statutory obligations and targets in relation to school attendance, especially persistent absence.
- Ensure the attendance of identified vulnerable pupils is checked at the earliest opportunity and that there is an appropriate response to non-attendance.
- Implement Action Plans for persistent absentees with a particular focus on disadvantaged pupils.
- Administer the fixed term penalty notices to improve attendance.
- Administer term time holiday fines.
- Attend multi agency meetings to discuss attendance and improvements required with targeted parents.
- Coordinate Early Help Assessments and Team Around the Family meetings.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous development, identify opportunities for professional development and undertake training opportunities where appropriate.
- Ensure relevant Safeguarding Policies and measures for all staff and pupils are in place and reviewed.
