We have exciting opportunities for Band 4 Nursing Associates within Cardiac Surgery (D3) and Thoracic (E4). We’re looking for motivated and enthusiastic nurses with an interest within these specialities along with a commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and mutual support. Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic experience is not essential, as full training and supervision will be given.

OUR TEAMS
E4 is a 20 bedded ward which cares for patients with a special focus on Thoracic, Cardiac investigation and surgery who are usually admitted on a planned/elective basis. Emergency transfers and admissions are also accepted from the Emergency Department or our regional district hospitals. Examples of patients who are admitted to E4 include people with lung cancer requiring surgical removal, people suffering from recurrent pleural effusions and recurrent pneumothoraxes. Patients following thoracic trauma and or fractured ribs & sternum e.g., RTA’s are also admitted on an emergency basis.

D3 Cardiac is a 22 bedded ward which primarily caring for cardiology and both pre and post op cardiac surgery patients. 6 of these beds make up our High Observation Bay for patients requiring closer monitoring. The primary patient group within this bay is those who have had Trans Aortic Valve Implantations (TAVIs).

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will contribute to the provision and monitoring of high-quality individualised nursing care in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be involved in supporting the development of other staff and learners, including acting as a Practice Supervisor, after completion of appropriate training, in line with NMC Standards.
