**Engineered Fixed Systems (EFS) Apprentice**
Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd. requires an EFS Apprentice to contribute to a key growth area of our business. This is a local role reporting to the Team Leader.

**Location & Remuneration**
The company head office is Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd, 172 Brook Drive, Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 4SD.
**What will you be doing?**
As a member of the Engineered Fixed Systems team, you will learn to construct a range of customised controller systems.
- You will be learning to use and terminate a range of cables. (Single and multicore, screened and fire-resistant cables.)
- You will learn to connect a range of electrical components (Switchgear, control systems and sensors for safety devices).
- Learn to be proficient in using appropriate tools and techniques for the wiring of electronic systems and circuits.
- Assembling electrical components for bespoke Gas detecting control panels, inclusive of: contactors and relays, bases for plug-in devices, rail mounted terminal blocks and power supplies.
- Understanding of the soldering techniques used while having awareness of anti-static protection techniques.
**Your skills & experience**
- Currently studying or having work experience within the field of Electronic Engineering.
- You have good dexterity and attention to detail.
- You can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time.
- You have a good team spirit and demonstration of company's values.
**Developing your skills & experience**
You will:
- Gain electrical and ESD knowledge along with an understanding electrical wiring diagram.
- Become proficient at soldering a range of different components.
- Learn to make complete systems from start to finish.
- Learn how to layout and test a range of different systems.
- Have the opportunity to develop further knowledge including system design.
- Be part of an engaging and supportive environment.
- Be part of an apprenticeship programme providing NVQ qualifications.
