School Transport Contract Monitoring Officer

This is a new and exciting role, working as part of the council’s School Transport Team. You will contribute to the provision of home-to-school and college transport by taking a lead role in the awarding and monitoring of contracts with school transport operators across the private sector.

You will have some experience of contract monitoring ideally within a transport field and you will benefit from experience and a good understanding of procurement principles and processes.

This will be a demanding role in a very busy team. You will have knowledge and experience of working with a range of administrative systems and you will be able to quickly develop new or improved processes to support the development of this exciting new position.

The successful applicant should have:

- Good attention to detail and experience of contract monitoring and contract compliance;
- Good communication skills, tact and diplomacy;
- Be able to develop positive relationships with stakeholders;
- Be organised;
- Have good ICT skills;
- Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle; and
- An ability to meet deadlines and provide flexible and timely support.
