- attachment- Head of Football - September 2024.pdfJob description

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, talented, and motivated individual for September 2024 as Head of Football.

Football provides a competitive sport option for boys throughout the school in the Lent term, with teams at both Junior and Senior level participating in a football league. Competitive fixtures usually take place on Saturday afternoons, with occasional midweek matches. The school prides itself in the number of pupils representing the school on match days with a balanced focus on both participation and performance. In addition, some football takes place as an extra activity during the Autumn and Summer terms. Football pitches at Birley’s (the school’s main sports field) are used in the Lent Term as well as the 3GX pitch at the University of Kent.

Following the success of the Lionesses and the growing popularity of Girls’ Football, King’s is looking to build and grow an outstanding Girls’ Football programme. Girls' football is more formally being introduced for September 2024. The ability and skillset to introduce and ambitiously grow a competitive and wide-reaching girls’ programme would be beneficial.

The Physical Education Department is well-established at King’s and teaches Core PE for pupils in Year 9 and 10 as well as offering OCR J587 GCSE and OCR H555 A level Physical Education courses. The department also runs a very successful Level 3 National Diploma and Extended Certificate in BTEC Sport.

It might be possible to contribute to the wider life of this busy boarding school through the whole?school and house pastoral and co-curricular programmes in addition to responsibility for football.
